Adoptive/Foster Home
Peaceful Valley is looking for compassionate people to provide adoptive homes for our donkeys. The donkeys, made available for adoption, are prescreened for certain qualities including:
- Friendliness
- Willingness to accept a halter
- Stand Tied
- Lift all four hooves for trimming.
Unlike similar government adoption programs, Peaceful Valley's adoptive donkeys are not wild and require no special training in order to be handled. A typical Peaceful Valley Adoptive Family is one that wants a pet and has a little extra time to dedicate to a donkey. Brushing and walking is a must for building a successful relationship with your donkeys. Peaceful Valley does not adopt donkeys that are trained for riding, packing or driving, while many of our donkeys could learn these disciplines we prefer homes that are looking for a pet first. Peaceful Valley's Adoption Program has specific guidelines and we recommend that you read this first before contacting an Adoption Center.
Some of our basic requirements include:
- Minimum Pen Size 24x24
- Adequate protection from the elements

- Quality time with people
- Vaccinations and regular Vet checks
