Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue

Our Texas office received a call from the Eastland County Sheriffs' Department.  Eastland County is located along Interstate 20 between Midland, TX and Fort Worth, TX.  Someone had dropped of 10 whole jacks along a stretch of road.  The sheriffs' office moved the burros to a local auction facility, but no one wanted to bid on them.

These jacks were skin and bone.  Whoever owned them had been unable or unwilling to fed them.  They were lethargic, had a dull look in their eye and couldn't hold their head up.  Two of the poor guys tripped and fell as they were put into the trailer and could only stand back up with help from PVDR's staff.

Their condition was so poor that we did not process them in right away because we felt the stress might kill them.  We are happy to announce that all 10 are doing much better and are starting to put on weight.  They still have a long road of recovery ahead.
