Working with abused and neglected animals is never text book work. Our Veterinary Staff, headed by Dr. John Roueche, DVM, is one of the best in the country. We record all of our procedures and share them with animal health professionals around the world.
Donkeys are not a "big money" industry and most companies do not want to invest in research in them as they would in horse health. Peaceful Valley compiles data from fecal samples, blood samples and tissue samples from our necropsies. Animals are never harmed in any way for any research done at our sanctuaries. The research performed has made vast improvements in the way we combat parasites and tackle nutritian.
