Pot Bellied Pigs

In the 1990's pot bellied pigs were all the rage.  Everyone either had one,pig knew someone who had one or had plans to get one.  Breeders sprung up on every corner.  Every classified section of the newspaper was brimming with sales ads.  Then one day the realization set in, PIGS DO NOT MAKE GOOD PETS!

Pigs are extremely intelligent and can be even more destructive.  If left in a home, the root up flooring and destroy cabinets.  If threatened or challenged, they can become aggressive.  After the Pot Bellied Pig craze was over thousands of pigs were left without a pighome.  Most were euthanized in county shelters other were released to fend for themselves.  There was simply not enough rescue space to care for them all.

The Pot Bellied Pigs of Peaceful Valley (say that 5 times fast) are typical representations of what happened.  One came from a family that got rid of her when she bit a four year old child.  One came from an orchard where is lived all alone.  One came from junk yard and the others came from unethical breeders.
